I think it was like four days we were working on that sequence and it was just me and no other actors and I was emotionally a mess. But I remember that I was lying there, in that med-pod, screaming and in so much pain and almost feverish and at the same time I kind of enjoyed it. Because working with Ridley, he’s so funny, and he came in and said, “You know, dude, I think your baby is kind of cute.” And I said, “Honestly!? Yeah!”

One of the most defining aspects of Wes Anderson’s filmography is his soundtrack. If you could control the music, what songs and artists would you like to include?
Kara Hayward: Personally, I’d like something rather perky. During a slow motion scene, I’d use some Lana Del Ray; something that is fun and also very indie.
Jared Gilman: If it’s a shot of some cool kid walking across the hallway, maybe put some Black Keys in the background.

Jared Gilman: He taught me how to tie a tie. I was trying on a specific costume where I had to wear a tie and I didn’t know how. All of the people in the room were women so they didn’t know either. And Bill just happened to be in the room next to us and said, “Jared, come over here. I’ll teach you how to tie a tie.” It was pretty cool.
Kara Hayward: We had so much fun together at the Harper’s Bazaar shoot. At one point they put a giant tuba on his head and he began to play. I couldn’t stop laughing. He used a microphone and sang this song. He’s very musical I suppose, because they also handed him a guitar and he began to play and I didn’t know that he could do that. But he’s Bill Murray, he can do anything.

I saw “Alien” when I was thirteen and I was completely blown away by Sigourney’s character, Ripley. I remember that I had never seen anything like it. At that time, I was desperately looking for some kind of role model or people to look up to, and for me, what she did there was so stunning — she was so fearless and strong and sexy at the same time but not posing, not trying to be sexy. She was so modern and such a rebel. I was obsessed.

Aubrey Plaza Wants to Be In ‘Ghostbusters 3’

Would you support another ‘Ghostbusters’ movie?

Only if I was in it — I mean that with all my heart. I’m a very selfish person. If they made a “Ghostbusters” movie with anyone else in it and I wasn’t in it, shame on that movie. If I was in it, if they cast me as a Ghostbuster, it’d be the best movie of the last 10 years. Hands down. That’s really how I feel.

We can see it now…

Any messages?
No.
Any calls?
No.
Any customers?
No, Dr. Venkman.
Good job, isn’t it? Type something will ya, we’re paying for this stuff, [Walks off] And don’t stare at me you got the *bug eyes* … Janine, sorry about the bug eyes thing I’ll be in my office.

How does it feel not to be involved in the final ‘Twilight’ movie?

It’s a relief, you know? Because it’s kind of off my shoulders [in terms of] talking about it. Because talking about it I always feel like I say something that gets misconstrued or I offend someone because people are so deeply passionate about that series. So, I’m actually sort of happy to be not talking about it.

Who would you say is the bigger asshole: Pete Campbell or Pierce Hawthorne?
Oh. That is a tough one. I guess, I mean, I might say Pete Campbell because I think that Pierce doesn’t really realize all the time what he’s doing wrong — like he doesn’t mean to be a jerk, he kind of just doesn’t know any better. Whereas Pete’s actions seem so premeditated.

Anyone who’s seen “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” knows about Jason Segel’s full frontal. Unfortunately, the full-frontal scene got cut from the movie so, yeah, we just basically made him do full frontal all the time on-set. We’d be like, “Jason, if we’re not going to see it in theaters, we need to see it now.”
And then he would strip down from his bunny suit?
He had an alternate bunny suit that was just the top half of a bunny suit. And then he would just be naked on the bottom. It was weird! And even though he wasn’t working that day, he would just come to set, like, wearing that. [Laughs.]

“The Pirates!” features Charles Darwin as a main character. How are you preparing for the inevitable Fox News piece about a “supposed children’s movie featuring the controversial Darwin as a hero”?

[Laughs] Okay, the truth is, I like Darwin. I mean, our Darwin, he’s a respectable figure, but we give him such a hard time. All the fundamentalists were delighted because we make him look like a complete ass.

But that requires watching the movie, and they’re not going to do that.

What’s the most audacious Wallace and Gromit adventure you haven’t filmed yet?
Oh god! Every time you start a new film, there’s something really, really audacious that you don’t do. I can tell you that for “Grand Day Out,” there was a huge scene that was cut — [a] huge scene, with a kind of diner on the moon with full machines and elaborate sci-fi set piece on the moon, but that never happened.

People don’t use a ton of pick-up lines on me. I don’t know that people use pick-up lines. Although, I do feel like there’s a new thing that guys are doing where they, like, insult girls. Like, they think that that’s the move. And I gotta say, it is not the move. Like, get out of here.
